DARING GREATLY Nominated in 3 Categories at the 2023 San Diego Music Awards!

As a band, we are constantly reminded by the raw, heartfelt emotion that our music evokes in our fans. Their dedicated support has spurred us on throughout our journey, and we couldn't be more grateful. Now, we're thrilled to announce that we've been nominated in three categories at the San Diego nominated in three categories at the San Diego Music Awards. Awards.

In the "Best Rock Artist" category, we're up against some of San Diego's most accomplished musicians, including Band of Gringos, Mrs. Henry, Ash Easton, The Farmers, and Deaf Club. However, we're confident that our electrifying live shows and emotive songwriting will help us stand out from the crowd.

Our album, Gird Valley, has also been nominated for "Best Rock Album." This recognition is a testament to our growth and evolution as artists, and the powerful impact our music has on listeners. We poured our hearts and souls into creating this album, and we're humbled to be considered for such an honor.

"Never a Goodbye," a standout track from our album "Gird Valley," has been nominated for "Song of the Year," and we couldn't be more thrilled. The catchy melody, emotional depth, and relatable lyrics are a testament to the hard work and dedication that went into making it. The song features the talents of Patrick Croome on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Liam Croome on piano, organ, and harmonies, David Mills on electric guitar, Matt Spatol on bass, and Brayden Tario on drums and harmonies. Produced by DARING GREATLY, engineered by David Mills and Matt Spatol, and mixed by David Mills, "Never a Goodbye" is a true team effort. The lyrics, penned by songwriter, Aaron Young, evoke the struggle to find one's way in life and the desire for a brighter future. Lines such as "I'm struggling with something in the way that I see, show me the dream yet-to-be-seen" and "It's a life in the right kinda light, I'm open whole" capture the universal yearning for purpose and meaning. For us, "Never a Goodbye" is more than just a song - it's a labor of love that speaks to the essence of who we are as musicians and people.

A STANDSTILL TALE

As we all know, the pandemic brought the live music scene to a standstill. Artists were forced to cancel tours, festivals and shows, leaving many struggling to find ways to connect with their audience. But for DARING GREATLY, this period of isolation presented an opportunity for growth and creativity. In fact, it was during this time that they found a new freedom to create, with a renewed focus on their songwriting and recording.

The band was lucky enough to have the perfect space to hone their craft: a house in the idyllic Gird Valley, located in Fallbrook, California. With breathtaking views and a top-of-the-world vibe, the band had an open canvas to practice their art. Surrounded by nature, with flora, fauna, breezes and dramatic sunsets as their muse, DARING GREATLY was able to draw inspiration from the energy of their surroundings. Their fourth independent album release, Gird Valley, was born out of this experience. It is a reflection of the band's journey as artists, drawing from their 70's retro haven of two years, the birthplace of their continuous live broadcast shows, The Quarantine Sessions, and their developing home-based recordings. The album is an ode to the power of nature, the dominant energy in Gird Valley, and the inspiration behind most of the songs.
